I think Democrats need to nominate a woman for our 2020 run.

I've gone back and forth on who I would support. I live in Oregon and thought about Jeff Merkley. (I'm a Hillary voter) Jeff Merkley is very humble and clean. Now I think Kamala Harris. I think we need to show women and especially women of color how much we appreciate them. What say Y'all?

2018 is a courtesy flush. If we don't pump turnout we'll have all drowned in the shit by the time 2020 get here.

Although us women have been told ONCE again that we really don’t matter again for the millionth time. The best qualified candidate we’ve ever had (who happened to be a female) was beat by a moronic evil man-child.

it will even be against Trump. If it happens to be Pence, I'd be all in with Kamala Harris. I would still be all in for Veep if it's Trump. The main player has to be a pit bull. We won't get anywhere if we stick with the usual MO. We need someone who will call out Trump for the con man, pussy-grabbing grifter that he is. I guess that's Avenatti's appeal, but he doesn't seem right either. It's a mystery.

There were women to cheered Trumps mocking of Dr. Ford.

I am a white guy but I am also Jewish. In Charlottesville the Neo Nazis were chanting amongst other things "jews will not replace us" White women are a large reason we are in this mess. Those "White Suburban mom's" voted for him. There are two types of Trump voters racists and people who are okay with racism.

MLK said

"First, I must confess that over the last few years I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice."

Now these "White Suburban mom's" are turning away because they know think that Trump's polices will personally affect them. Forgive me if I hold off on giving them a medal.

Goes to shit (like their wives). Us SWF’s and other single females are the best hope. Staying single does not bother me. I changed my boyfriend from being a Republican to a royally pissed-off liberal Democrat. When we were first dating we watched wall-to-wall MSNBC and he started reading my anti-Bush books. He wasn’t so crazy at first about watching wall-to-wall politics but it eventuality made a big dent in him.

The next will be the first one to actually serve.

But even last time, with Hillary, for me gender was very much secondary to competence and agenda.

I won't agree with any decision that discriminates against an entire sex, any more than I would one discriminating against race or religion.

Once electability has been established (not limited to one sex), "It's principles, goals and ability to achieve, stupid!" We must elect honorable people who have the right stuff, not the right reproductive systems.

Booker, Harris, Biden, Warren, Merkley and others. Kennedy is a bit too conservative for me and Bernie may be too divisive. Kirsten Gillebrand may be too divisive as well after leading the charge to have popular Al Franken resign.

What has been proven time and again, however, is that the candidate that gets more media coverage wins - Reagan in 80 and 84, Clinton in 92 and 96, Bush in 2000 and 2004, Obama in 2008 and 2012, and of course, Trump in 2016.

Who among the Democrats would be able to compete with Trump to drive the news cycle? Maybe Harris? Maybe Booker? Maybe Biden? I like Warren and Merkley, but I'm not sure either has the charisma to do it. Maybe Avenatti? But, he's also divisive. Oprah? I haven't heard anything from her since she made that speech last year?

Eric Garcetti? No clue. Just looking at his bio, though, it's pretty impressive - Columbia, Oxford, US Navy, performed & co-wrote student musicals at Columbia for 3 years (meaning, he should be comfortable on stage)

We saw the sexism of both men and women in 2016. They chose a sexual predator with zero political experience over a highly experienced stateswoman. We've seen the sexism of Americans once again in recent days in the discussions about sexual harrassment. When will we get the message? If we run a woman in 2020, we will lose. I'm for Cory Booker.

a woman president. We desperately need the presidency back in 2020. It’s a tough spot but we have to look at the reality of the situation.
