Just finished long letters to Sass, Manchin, Murkowski, Collins, Gardner.

I'm not a caller - I'm a writer.

I don't know if it's as effective but it's what I do. Surprisingly, in the past, I've gotten responses even when I didn't request one.

I tried to connect with Sass and Gardner as a father of three daughters.

I tried to connect with Manchin as a straight shooter who has the gravitas in WV to say "I voted for Gorsuch but this guy's about character, not ideology".

I tried to connect with Murkowski and Collins but highlighting the character of those who picked Brett first as an adult - DKE Fraternity at Yale. Remember, you don't pick a frat, they pick you because they look at you as "one of their own". This renown group of misogynistic drunks look at Brett and said "yeah - you're one of us". "No mean yes and yes means a...". Those are the guys that gave Brett his first reference. We don't have to believe anyone but them to understand his character.

And across the board I focused on the fact he can be not guilty AND be not worthy. It's not two ends of the same scale.

So this was my getting the frustration out for the day.

I know if I call, I'll just start yelling dysfunctionally and hang up on the person.

So I write.
