Why only Susan Collins from Maine but not Angus King?
Why not Ben Sasse who writes books about character or morality ?
Why not Ron Johnson who comes from a purple state?
On edit! Angus is already counted as a No.

(129,119 posts)Ron Johnson is a douchbag.
Sasse did do a sob speech last night on the Senate floor and is somewhat on the equivocator's list now, last I heard.

(32,982 posts)Sen. Angus King announced his opposition to Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh on Wednesday.
I have determined that I cannot support this nomination, King, an independent from Maine who caucuses with Democrats, said in a statement. He joins a handful of senators, including New Hampshire Democratic Sens. Maggie Hassan and Jeanne Shaheen and Virginia Democratic Sens. Tim Kaine and Mark Warner, in declaring themselves no on Kavanaugh.
Most Democrats are expected to oppose Kavanaugh, whom Republicans expect to have confirmed to the Supreme Court in time for its next term, which starts Oct. 1.
A key group of moderate senators, however, remains undecided. The list includes Republican Sens. Susan Collins of Maine and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and vulnerable Democratic Sens. Joe Manchin of West Virginia, Joe Donnelly of Indiana and Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota. Each of the three Democrats backed President Donald Trumps first Supreme court pick, Neil Gorsuch, last year and are up for reelection in states the president won by double .

(90,714 posts)They would be the following Republicans: Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins, and ever since he had a crisis of conscience, Jeff Flake.
If you were writing for a newspaper or tv show, who would you write about? Joe Blow (R) from Alabama who has sworn eternal allegiance to Trump, or Susan Collins (R) from Maine, who won't say how she's voting?
Likewise, if you had limited time, money, and resources, who would you be working on to try to change their minds?
