People's Filibuster to Stop Kavanaugh!
STAND UP TO THE COVER-UP.
The FBI completed its investigation into sexual assault allegations against Judge Kavanaugh. Its everything the White House and Senate Republicans wantedand less.
*In just five days, the FBI completed a sham investigation during which:
*It failed to interview to Dr. Christine Blasey Ford.
*It failed to interview Judge Kavanaugh.
*It failed to interview the dozens of witnesses who are eager to share corroborating evidence in support of Dr. Ford and Deborah Ramirez, including a former suitemate of Kavanaughs.
It failed to examine the public allegations that Kavanaugh lied under oath about his drinking habits, a claim corroborated by Kavanaughs freshman year roommate (who also asked to speak with the FBI).
Why did the FBI conduct such an inadequate investigation? To answer that, we need to look at who was controlling the scope of the inquiry: The White House. Trump promised us an unrestricted FBI investigation. Instead, he gave us a sham.
Surprising no one, Senate Republicans and the White House applauded the sham report and its lack of damning conclusions. Today, Republican Senators like Susan Collins claimed the report suggested a thorough investigation.
They can rig the system. They can smear survivors and elevate unfit, angry, partisan liars. They can show their disdain for and disbelief of survivors. But they cant silence us.
Join us tonight to raise our voices in opposition to Brett Kavanaugh. Head to the Capitol grounds at 6:30pm between the Capitol and the Supreme Court. Well be there until the final vote on Saturday.

(33,356 posts)Apply exactly the same facts, but just change the name from "Kavanaugh" to "Clinton" in all instances. Imagine how GOPers would react.
Call and protest against putting a perjuring, partisan, maniac on the Supreme Court.

(58,785 posts)Plus TV simply doesn't have time in the brief slots between commercials to cover almost anything.
In this case I'm guessing it's because most action is in the senate, this is the house, and a third of all Americans are unsure what they are and, TV viewers especially, would just get confused and turned off by "too much" information.
As for cable, note that maybe 5% of Americans use cable, including all 3 biggies, as their primary information source. Hardly a tragedy. Fox viewers test actually negative for knowledge (!), but CNN and MSNBC viewers score low for knowledge.

(129,127 posts)"We" (our leadership, our elected officials) ARE out there. But the media refuses to cover it, so the assumption by many of our illustrious posters is that Democrats "have no spine" and "aren't 'messaging'" and other nonsense. Sometimes if Congress isn't in session, CSPAN will cover the marches and/or protest speeches live and will usually rebroadcast in the evening.
This is why we need to own our OWN media powerhouse and it must be for the long term and at a "loss" until it gets a foothold.
