(11,495 posts)The last few days we have had numerous posters here try and tell us it's all over, we are doomed! Could it be they are full of crap?

(99,710 posts)A small group of voters might have shifted their preference over the hearings. IMHO this shift will have some effect on Trump's numbers and the generic ballot, albeit a small one.

(229 posts)when seen the electorate model is the Trump friendly 2016 one. This is Dems plus 8 using a GOP leaning model. Add a minimum of 4. Prediction 56-44. Take House, take Senate.

(12,265 posts)GOTV!!! Look at what happened to us in 2016. It WILL happen again, we will have 2 more years of total republican control if we listen to these polls. Democrats don't vote like we should, we read the polls, see that we are way in front and then find something more important to do, like sit on the back porch with a beer rather than vote. We must, must must get out the vote this time, our very lives and the country depend on it.
This Kavanaugh thing has someone energized the Republican base. Trump has turned men in the victims, making them feel everyone, especially women, are after them.
I don't care if the polls the day before the election say we are 40 points ahead, GOTV!!!

(65,076 posts)The big "polling news" was that "Voter Enthusiasm" (whatever that's supposed to mean) was up among R voters.
Thing is, the only reason why they achieved the current power is that R's already go vote in very high proportions.
Their enthusiasm went up so they would go do what they were already going to do. And that was a meaningful statistic, how?
There was no polling evidence, other than this unscientific piece of claptrap, that things has shifted away from D's.

(99,710 posts)Kavanaugh is unpopular but he is not as unpopular as Trump and the Repugnants.
