Sen. Grassley and the old men hanging on by their fingernails to a world slipping away.

Sen. Grassley comments on the floor of the Senate, angrily complaining about "The Resistance" serves as an example of what this fight is really about.

Grassley, and men like him, long for the far away world where everyone "knew their place." It is as simple as that.

Now, this most recent wave of women demanding to be taken seriously as dignified human beings, has put these men back on their heels. It cuts to not only the institutional roadblocks and glass ceilings women have been fighting against for a century, but it cuts to the personal conduct of these men. And they don't know how to adjust. Change is always tough, especially when it is about yourself.

and his references to the Dems about 'dark money' and ' the fix was in from the start'. My first thought was that Sen. Schumer could make exactly the same speech that Grassley made and just change the terms 'Dems' to 'Repugs' and it would be accurate.

Everything the Repugs say that the Dems did or are doing - the Repugs actually did.

They want to keep their position where they can dismiss us and flick us away.

And if we let them, we deserve whatever we get.

That's not to say all old people are troglodytes like they are (a lot of DUers are also senior citizens), but those guys are not only old, they've been privileged and powerful for most of their lives. And they don't like it that the power and privilege of men like them is being eroded.

Fuck 'em.

I keep leaning further and further to the left as I get older. And I was pretty far-left to begin with. What a difference a thirty-year age-gap can make.

The sooner these fossils are put back in the ground, the better...

kav is just as "fossilized" as these old men.

And there are a lot of kavs out there to replace the old ones that die.

I am a little bit older than Kavanaugh and a lot of the people I know who are of the same age are similarly fossilized.
