Implications of the Cloture vote...

1. The Cloture vote was 51-49. If all votes hold, Kavanaugh will be approved.

2. Since Murkowski voted "no" on Cloture, it is highly unlikely that she would vote "yes" on approval.

3. Collins, Manchin and Flake could still vote "no" on approval (Collins will announce her decision at 3 PM. Flake has previously indicated that he's inclined to vote "yes&quot . However, unless TWO OUT OF THREE vote "no", Kavanaugh will be approved (either by majority vote or a tiebreaker vote cast by VP Pence).

If Murkowski was a no then that's 50 - 50. So one more Republican defection (and a Manchin no, which he would be in that case) means he isn't confirmed.
