There is one way to a Kavenaugh defeat.

If Feinstein planned a way to lull McConnell into a false sense of security on tomorrow's vote she could instruct Joe Manchin to vote to confirm today. It's predictable enough and republicans may be confident they have his vote tomorrow.

-Today's vote was 51/49.
-Tomorrow republicans will be missing one vote from Montana still giving Kav a close 50/49.
-If Joe Manchin changes his vote it will be 49/50 against.
-Mike Pence can cast his vote, but the result will be 50/50, not a majority.

It's assumed that if McConnell believes he'll lose Saturday's vote, he'll postpone it until the senator from Montana returns Monday, but he doesn't want to do that unless he has to.

Joe Manchin returned to the secret room to review the FBI report today giving him an excuse to change his mind at the last minute. That may give him cover for WV voters next month. He has little to lose anyway because Trump is absolutely going to campaign for Patrick Morrisey, but if Manchin changes his vote he'll probably earn a presidential nickname.

1) McConnell will hold the vote open until Daines returns if Manchin flips to a No
2) Pence will not vote unless it is a tie.

Didn't see that coming, but I guess McConnell did. Let's hope there's another plan.

I'm sure the Koch brothers will have a Gulfstream warmed up on the runway near the wedding.

4. Schumer, not Feinstein is Minority Leaders. Feinstein has no authority to "instruct" Manchin

on ANYTHING. She's ranking member on the judicial committee, but still no authority to "instruct" any member on anything, much less Dem Senators in general.

The two Indies will vote No. If there are two defects GOPers voting No and Munchin the same, wouldn't that defeat Brett?
