I don't understand why Kavanaugh would even want the job now.

Whenever he is mentioned, people will not remember anything he did as a SC justice (unless it's bad), but will always remember Dr. Ford's disclosure about attempted rape and the spectacle of his confirmation hearing.

I don't think of Justice Thomas without picturing a pubic hair on a pop can.

If he doesn't win confirmation, is he free to return to his former position? If so, I would hope he would have to recuse himself on certain cases like the upcoming trial of the Democrats vs. Trump on immoluments or any case involving rape.

I worked with someone retired from DoJ. I think Federal Judges make various amounts per year and it continues in retirement.

Here you go

Associate Supreme Court justices now have a $244,400 salary, up from $213,900. U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals judges are getting $211,200 a year, up from $184,500. The annual salary of a U.S. District Court judge increased to $199,100 from $174,000.Jan 13, 2014

I can't remember if they questioned him about how his cards suddenly had a zero balance.

Thanks for the info. With two kids, he should be able to get by on that. I'm sure there are many benefits, as well.

There was a lengthy period where he contributed very little on the record at the Supreme Court. So he didn't care what people thought of his performance either, apparently...

I can't recall ever hearing Thomas say anything. His wife talks so much, he probably doesn't get a word in edgewise at home, either.

In the Mayer/Abramson book. 'Strange just'ice' there's a place where Thomson tells his aides he will spend his life reeking hell on US. ..yet the media never even made a note!
The USA became the nazi type state it is because the people too busy to stop them (nazipoohs)!
going back to the rescue of war criminal s reinhard ghelin (cia) von brown (nasa] and admiral donitz (kakaka) etc. ...the media have been nazipooh activists for a long time hiding truth. Colin powel threw his name/career away for 30 silver dollars!

Clearly, Kavanaugh is cut from the same sociopath cloth as Trump. He does not have the capacity to feel the shame, the embarrassment, the regret or remorse that most normal people have.

He doesn't care because he doesn't feel and isn't affected.

Once you're in, you're free from worrying about what you're going to do for the rest of your life. You can do as little as you wish, or as much. You get invited to the very nicest dinner parties by the very best people. You sit in a fancy chair once in a while and listen to erudite people speak of things. Then you rule as you wish and go on with your day.

It's a great job. It's the job of a lifetime. You have power without responsibility. Who could ask for more than that?
