Thank you, Newt Gingrich...

Prior to Gingrich, there was plenty of animosity between R's and D's (Look at FDR's admin..) but never the pure spite and hatreds we have now. Gingrich and his ilk deliberately made it a blood sport, and set it up for shits like Trump and his ilk to demand total victory.

We've seen a lot of sniping in our lifetimes, but have we ever seen a President and a Senate leader talk in such blunt terms, with such nastiness? Have we ever seen such trash talking? Even Reagan held back from the worst of this sort of talk (he was an actor, after all, and understood how to talk to the crowd).

This wholesale insult campaign is what we get when we forget that the half of Americans we tend to disagree with politically are our neighbors and fellow citizens, and we have to work together to get anything done.

Two men who will say absolutely anything, with zero regard for facts, if it will advance whatever agenda they are pushing that day. And it's always a hard-right agenda.
