on rapist Kavanaugh.

And he just lost his own base.

I would be surprised if he doesn't lose 60-40 or worse.

His "base" isn't the same as the rest of the Dems.

6. Did Schumer Cut Manchin Free To Vote Yes.....

after it was apparent that Kavanaugh would be confirmed? Just thinking that the mission now is to save Manchin's seat and win the Senate for the Dems.

But it might be a miscalculation and
Manchin will lose his Dem base and not pull any appreciable Repug votes and lose his seat anyway.

14. I'm sure he did. Manchin counts as a D when senate majority is decided.

This like playing chess. Think of the long game, which is sometimes hard to do. Having Manchin in the seat counts as a D when the senate majority is decided. It’s really important. We’re never going to get a liberal D in West Virginia. But at least we have a D now when the majority leader is decided.

Seriously, I wish it was different, but it isn’t.

Remember, the R’s play the long game. That’s why they’re now controlling everything.

7. I think we will recapture the senate and it's likely Joe Manchin will retain his seat as well

It's absolutely disgusting this happened. But I don't see how this is a loosing scenario for Dems in the midterms. If anything this will motivate those registered voters and new voters that don't normally vote in midterms.

but that's short term. The long term effects of this could be a disaster unless we get back the house, senate and Presidency asap and expand the court.

No point in committing political suicide when the votes are there.
