(17,863 posts)I would be more than happy with Rice. She would be an excellent Senator, and I wish her the best. I only regret we have to wait two years.

(31,261 posts)Democrat Jared Golden, assistant majority leader in the Maine house. Is running for the US House against the republican Poloquin in Maine's 2nd district. 36 years old, former Marine with tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Surprisingly once was an aid to Collins.
If he can win the 2nd district US House seat, he can run very strong against Collins statewide.

We're not the press. We won't be doing the interviews. We won't be asking her the questions. We won't be writing the articles.
Then there's Fox News and Breitbart. How are we gonna fight against ALL that bull$hit?

I'm just saying, Ms Rice needs to be able to counter the Benghazi-based attacks with something other than taking the high road...

(664 posts)Screw taking the high road - it doesn't get Dems/Progressives anywhere! Burton may get Ms Rice to the promised land.

I have to think the party can do better than Rice.

(3,148 posts)Let them bring up Benghazi. Collins is now and will always be tagged as a supporter of a known attempted rapist.

(2,795 posts)Boy what a twit she turned out to be. Why does she even bother dancing around her decision? She knew weeks ago she was going to vote for him. I'm sure there are a lot of republicans that were nauseated about having to vote for him, but they will never buck the party. They're like the Georgetown Prep boys - stick together, lie and deny, just always stick together, lie and deny.

(72,378 posts)would have to contend with our racist Trumpers, the Benghazi nuts, and perhaps most damningly, being from "away." (That's still a huge deal here.)
That said, I will gladly support her and campaign for her if she runs!
