BREAKING: The overwhelming anger at Susan Collins has crashed the CrowdPac website where people have been donating to her opponent.
As Kavanaugh would say "What goes around comes around!"
You are about to be struck by a BLUE TSUNAMI come 2020 Sen. Collins!

(6,496 posts)When they get that going again, her future Dem opponent should have some good funds.

(4,429 posts)just so she can be defeated. I want her to LOSE. I am so angry. And, as a woman, hurt beyond belief.

(58,670 posts)Wouldn't surprise me if she retires now that's she's dropped her turd in the Supreme Court punch bowl.

(28,799 posts)Had she made a simple statement suggesting she had weighed everything carefully - perhaps she could have survived.
But she went out of her way to paint Dr. Blasey Ford (to some extent) and the other accusers (especially) as mistaken - at best, or liars - at worst - cherry-picking facts that satisified a narrow definition of corroboration and ignoring the other fact (including Kavanaugh's own calendar) that served as corroboration to any reasonable person. I was interrupted by my students - but unless I missed it, she did not even address his judicial temperament or his lies. Then she wrapped this abomination in a patriotic speech about the integrity of a judicial system that Kavanaugh was unable to adhere to - even long enough to be confirmed.
I am on the national governing board of a lobbying group that has honored Collins for her bipartisan work on issues central to the work of that group. Based on my experience with her as part of that group, I expected better.

(75 posts)Comey, look no further than this very informative, well-documented, tweet line by Eric Garland. This is a woman who is highly compromised both on her own, and through her husband's, cough, lobbying activities and the public has no earthly idea of it. She may ultimately need a Supreme Court Justice who would protect both herself and her husband.
