Any chance Kavanaugh could get charged with perjury?

I'd like to see his entire tenure on the bench taken up with investigations, depositions, a trial, and, ideally, conviction and imprisonment.

So we can't impeach the bastard. Let's charge him in criminal court instead, and grind him down...

"I don't believe him... so he was lying. Plus... he was under oath... so that's perjury!" is a loooong way from proving perjury beyond a reasonable doubt. Let alone the difficulty in imagining the DOJ bringing charges against a sitting SCOTUS justice.

couldn't that lead to a perjury charge?

Perjury is a crime against the tribunal that you are testifying before. There would have to be a criminal referral from the Senate to the DOJ.

or testifies under oath in a deposition,

He was testifying under oath as well. Why wouldn't they be charged with perjury? Because someone else saying something other than what you said is not the definition of perjury.

Note - my opinion here is just based on currently known facts. If we later see emails showing clearly that he was well aware of the theft of Democratic emails during the Bush administration... that could change.

I hope he makes a mockery of the entire court, continues to publicly be the entitled asshole he is and that the GOP, and others that voted to confirm, are constantly reminded about it.

I can literally think of dozens and dozens of politicians in my 35 years who have knowingly lied under oath and faced zero consequences. Not sure why Kavanaugh, even as a judge, would be any different.

Perjury is a pretty meaningless concept in 2018.

So yes, it is rare, but it does happen.

It also had a lot to do with the politics at the time. She was the head of Superfund at the time, which was still a new program. Congress was afraid that Reagan would attempt to subvert the new law by not spending the money allocated to it and not going after polluters. Lavelle seemed to be doing exactly that. In our politicized time, and especially if Kavanaugh makes political decisions, I could see a Democratic president trying to take him out.

200K is a lot of baseball tickets. I'm guessing he's been bribed.

I'm also betting he gets caught doing something. Maybe he gets drunk and feels up a waitress or something. I'm guessing it's not the last we have heard of his "issues".

I believe we are witnessing some of the final acts to fully hijack the Republican Party, for and to be loyal to, Donald Trump. I could write a political thriller, and probably not have it as intense as what's going on.
