Relax, have a beer and think about it-- Collins does not have a dutiful loyalty to her party...

but Manchin does?

A Senator's first loyalty perhaps should be to the nation, but the second is definitely to the citizens of his or her state. And then there is personal conscience (if a politician could be considered to have a conscience).

Was FDR's messing with a conservative Court that trashed the New Deal any better than Trump's appointment of a rightwing dry drunk?

Yes, we are stuck with Kav, but we were stuck with Roberts, who turned out to be not that bad. And Thomas, who is that bad. And Scalia, who had strict principles that we might not have agreed with, but he was true to, and which often helped us.

Now is the time to deal with next month, where we will have a chance to get something done.
