Collins' two egregious, inexplicable mistakes.

I'm willing to allow Susan Collins to be a Republican who initially wanted Kavanaugh on the court. I thought her arguments for that side of the debate were impressive (not convincing, but impressive). What I do NOT understand are:

1 - Her complete and utter avoidance of Kavanaugh's behavior in the last hearing. How can she possibly not think it was worth addressing, at least, that he blamed a Democratic cabal for his predicament, that he repeatedly lied about petty things like a 17 year old. How could she possibly refer to his "judicial temperament" as attested to by colleagues without trying to explain that bizarre performance on Thursday?

2 - Her inexcusable ignorance about how memory works. About how Ford could have a vivid memory of some parts of an event while friends, for whom NOTHING unusual happened that night, could have forgotten it completely. You'd think she would have used her impressive research skills to get educated about sexual assualt and the resulting trauma!!!!!!

And as someone who has worked indirectly with her on bipartisan initiatives, I am both surprised and deeply disapppointed.

support the Democratic House candidates. The word just needs to get out and a lot of publicity and donations. I hate that this is what we've been forced to become. But without it, we're just part of the New Swamp.

What have we been forced to become? Isn't it completely OK to support Democratic house candidates?

affect the stakes of local/state races. Just speaking for myself, I'd never think of sending money to a Maine House of Representatives campaign, as I don't live there. But by the Grand National Circus Trump has created, with Kavanaugh as it's current Ringmaster and Collins … let's just say in the Troupe … where does it end? Fortunately Lisa Murkowski has plenty of state support, but without it, the Rs would likely target her...just for this national travesty.
