What a way to go...hanging on to Trump and Kavanaugh...both serial liars, sexual assaulters, etc. I've heard there was already a PAC with A Lot of money pledged if she did vote yes. I find it hard to believe that money hasn't been pushed around behind the scenes here. I'm sorry. The stakes were just too high. She was the last draw in Trump's "get out of jail free" full straight.

And that she'll get beat if she does

She might wait until a favorable red cycle to try for governorship. But memories are long

If she isn't running again, what could possibly explain this massive betrayal? Is she being blackmailed?

I didn't realize that until a guest mentioned it about an hour ago on CNN or MSNBC.

It was a female guest analyst and she said Collins had only voted against one judicial nominee, and it was for some lower court.

I'm big on situational awareness and I wish I understood that trend earlier, assuming it is true

the most extreme right wingers on the court, Gorsuch only slightly less. They are all much farther right than conservative voters and are not put on the court to represent even their imagined "America." Collins is supposed to be "moderate" conservative and should be very worried about this packing of the court to serve social and economic extremists, not abetting it.

And if she had a shred of the temperament a U.S.senator is supposed to have, she would protect the institution, not help subvert it to get a very dishonorable person on. It is not too much to worry that this step could lead to the failure and takeover of our democracy after 235 years.

Other nations have voted to destroy their democracies, Germany only the most famous one.

Kavanaugh. That's not simplistic thinking, it's profoundly dishonest and dishonorable behavior in the context of very vicious and dirty politics. She was every bit as bad as Graham, Kavanaugh and Trump.

Sara Gideon, Jared Golden, Dr. Cat London. If Dems there avoid splintering, either of those three could beat Collins.

2. Expanding the number of judges...after 2020
