could the democrats defund the supreme court?

just thinking hypothetically...

if the dems take back the house could they just refuse to allow any money to be budgets for supreme court operations?

I know there is a constitutional amendment preventing them from cutting justices salaries but if there any legal reason they couldnt just not appropriate money to operate the court.
pay them the couple million you have to but not one sent to keep the lights on at the court..

But still wouldnt stop the courts function. The Supreme Courts existence is founded in the Constitution. Cutting funding doesn't change that. The Justices can still hear cases and give orders, funding or none. They don't even have to use the building. Technically, they could camp out in one of their private residences and hold court there.

It is a constitutional third leg. They can refuse to appoint judges, but whe do that when Dems get control, doing that only increases republican judges' influence.
