Leslie Moonves can appreciate a Donald Trump candidacy.

Not that the CBS executive chairman and CEO might vote for the Republican presidential frontrunner, but he likes the ad money Trump and his competitors are bringing to the network.

"It may not be good for America, but it's damn good for CBS," he said of the presidential race.

Moonves called the campaign for president a "circus" full of "bomb throwing," and he hopes it continues.

"Most of the ads are not about issues. They're sort of like the debates," he said.

"Man, who would have expected the ride we're all having right now? ... The money's rolling in and this is fun," he said.

20. Ratings. It's been that way since the campaign

He is so outrageous, so offensive - people watch for the same reason they flock to train wrecks and fires. And I also blame the media for a lot of the misguided votes he received - any other candidate - of either party - received only cursory coverage. And it certainly continues today. He's still dominating the news cycles with his outrageous behavior and serial scandals. We hear nothing about news of the world anymore. The only event that preempts Trump is a devastating hurricane.

14. The local Fox affiliate is unbelievable

I only see it at my aunt's house but she has it on constantly.

They treat Trump like royalty and every news item is twisted in his favor, with Trump allowed to explain his side at length and the other version mentioned only briefly.

I want to throw my hands up in disgust and disbelief but my aunt just sits like like everything is proper. She has no comprehension she is receiving a slanted portrayal.

that the actual job of corporate media, both cable and broadcast, is to SHAPE the viewers' opinions. Their function should be, but is not, to report all facts.
