General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsA short while back, a white man killed a cop and wounded seven others,
and while he was taken alive, I have not seen or heard any thing about this incident, or seen a mug shot of the killer, let alone an update or cursory mention of it. No reporting on the motive or even whimper of of outrage, or reports of his "mental condition."
What happened here ?

(1,483 posts)I can't remember where, or I would link, but it is searchable.
He was badly beaten btw.
ETA: Fredrick Hopkins. Correction: "He fell and hit his head in the fray."
ETA Part 2: Here's a link to the mug shot I saw. Not the original site. But the pic is the same https://www.thestate.com/news/local/crime/article219501430.html
BTW, I already corrected that he "fell and hit his head."

(11,738 posts)Not much on Google. The newest stories are about how the neighborhood is traumatized. Some posts about the slain officer. One, which I am posting below states that the shooter 74 year old Frederick Hopkins, fell at the scene and was taken to the hospital for medical clearance. No indication of a beating.

Since you made that claim please link or retract your statement.

(17,111 posts)right now a lot of focus is on the slain officer and the wounded. A lot of pain.
A story about the family:

The shooting:

The police were sitting ducks. He shot them with a high-powered rifle from the second story.
I live in this town. I have read or heard nothing about his being beaten.
There are stories coming out about the family being troubled. Some people who live there have said some negative things. Nothing concrete but a son was being served for child molesttion. I hope they thoroughly examine the family and the treatment of the kids.
