White House Will ‘Look Into’ Fox News' Decision to Stop Broadcasting Trump Rallies
Reuters / Leah Mills

The White House has vowed to “look into” a decision taken by Fox News to stop broadcasting Donald Trump’s rallies live and in full because they’re no longer bringing in high ratings. Politico reports viewing figures for Trump rallies have dropped and tend to be similar to, or even below, those for regular programming. The network only showed clips of his three rallies over the last week, rather than broadcasting the whole events uninterrupted. The report states White House figures are concerned Trump is losing control of a key platform ahead of the midterms. One senior White House official told Politico they were unsure why the network is cutting away from the rallies, saying officials planned “to look into that” and that they expect White House Communications Director Bill Shine, a former Fox News executive, to be in touch with his former colleagues about the move.

Even for Fox News, Trump is a one-trick pony. He now performs at the rallies like he's a comedian on stage---a bad one.

Trump is a third-rate, washed-up reality-TV actor, and those who pay to sponsor such shows won't do it anymore.

How unhinged must he be that even Fox News won't cover his antics?

And you got that right -- he's repeating the same sentences over and over again like a comedian trying to zing up a bad punchline, then looks around with his lockjaw expression so we can get a 360 degree glimpse at that ridiculous hairdo.

Especially publicly stating the rating are in the dumper for his rally's now. He wants them to promote him with lies and help him promote his propaganda, while attacking the truth for him. He uses rally's to generate funds for his personal use too probably , and his legal fees he probably can't pay for now. Bankruptcy looming now again? I would not be surprised , as his businesses have all been taking a beating now.

And while Russian bots provide by far the largest percentage of Trump's make-believe followers on twitter, the Russians have yet to figure out a way to fake television viewership numbers. With Hannity's viewership taking second place to Rachel Maddow and Trump's rallies losing their draw even with Fox audiences, Fox's advertising revenues are likely turning south as well. Let's hope the trend continues and that even the Fox viewers learn that the rally audiences are paid to be there, as losing its Fox viewership will weaken the White House's messaging and propaganda powers.

Two powerful women quietly helped behind the scenes to bring Bill O'Reilly down. Sarah and Kathryn Murdoch — the wives of the ousted talk show host's young bosses — are at least partially responsible for his humiliating exit from Fox News Wednesday. While Fox News politically leans to the right, the wives of its top executives lean to the left.

the networks should stop broadcasting the Trump pep rallies. They are supposed to be about his support of local candidates, and should be of local interest only. The cost should be on local Republicans only, but I suspect the cost is paid for by all of us. The local candidate is lucky to be mentioned, while Trump rants on and on about the Democrats in general, and whoever else he is currently hating. It's always the same old braggadocio and lies. If he has something to say that is of important and interest to all of us, fine. Otherwise, he can't be gone soon enough. I'm beginning to suspect many of his "base" are showing up to be entertained and join in the mindless chanting. I doubt if many of them even know or care about the targets of his rancor any more than Trump really does.

once an audience is lost, you can never regain it no matter what you do. Serves the lying sob right and now I'm waiting for the end game, where all of his criminal crap is shown to the world in all of its glory and his a** is grass along w/ those in his orbit that participated in this American tragedy.

Additional note: Ratings drives it all. I hope this enrages rump to no end. His ratings are in the toilet, and he just plain sucks at doing what he does. Pathetic.

Maybe Fox finally saw what was happening to their ratings (they probably did some time ago, didn't want to do anything yet so they wouldn't jep their precious relationship w/ rump).

Ratings still continue to slump...Fox finally got the hint.

My hint to you...DON'T support this piece of garbage (rump) in any manner, shape, or form. For that matter, don't support any of the treasonous Congressional repugs either. They failed to do their job, period. They should at minimum removed rump from office (along w/ fellow Americans and democrats) and replaced rump w/ a far better person...this shouldn't been too hard as they are literally thousands of better persons than rump.
