President Donald Trump says Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) should get the Medal of Honor for what was a behind the scenes coordination with the White House attempt to essentially upend the Russia investigation.

“If this turns out as everyone thinks it will, Devin Nunes should get the Medal of Honor,” President Trump said Thursday morning in a telephone call in to Fox News’ “Fox & Friends” (video below.)

The President, as Commander-in-Chief, bestows the Medal of Honor, to members of the U.S. Military for valor. It is the highest award given to service members. It is not given to civilians.

“He is really – what he’s gone through, and his bravery, he should get a very important medal. Maybe we’ll call it the Medal of Freedom ’cause we actually give them.”
