2. Here is the key phrase

"who claim to be Christians!"

In reality they are not what they claim. Anyone can "claim" to be a christian, but it's their actions that show what they really are. Those who support trump are "not real christians. the Bible warns about associating with people who are like trump and his gang of merry degenerates. Anyone who supports trump, and calls themselves christians are doing what trump does all the time "lying"!

Supposed to even stay away from the appearance of evil. Guess they think it excuses them if they just try to turn everything back around onto us.

Christians. They might, in your view be "doing it wrong," but Christians, they are.

Not using it nor hearing it. My step-father was a deacon and we went three times a week to service plus various functions. We were fundamentalist baptists and at home he swore every other word. But still had no problem beating the shit out of me and my little brothers for using some of the same words. Especially if anyone else from the church happened to hear.

Fucking hypocrites.

I thought they were supposed be Christians twenty-four hours a day...not just Sundays and Wednesdays at the church building.

and I grew up with it so experienced a lot - They are only christian when another christian is around.

NB: My only fully immersed experience is with fundie baptists and I'm only speaking about those far right a-holes. I expect the farther right a "christian" is, the more similar to my experiences they will be no matter what denomination.

But my Methodist relatives are all quite kind and loving and pretty liberal. I often wish I had got onto those branches of the family tree. Had I been raised by them instead of my mom and step-asshole, I would probably still be an atheist but I doubt I would be such a jerk about it. (my wife's words lol)

We never know what some little kids have to go through. Sounds like your step dad was the real jerk.

But since my mother died years ago I haven't had to talk to him at all so that's been nice.
