Evangelicals must be beaming with pride at the Oval Office today.
These are the same people who lost their minds for a decade because John Kerry cursed once in a print interview or thought it was a crime against nature that a black first lady wore a sleeveless dress.

The very worst of America is having its day in the sun. They like to see themselves as the common man/woman - when they're just plain common.

3. I agree with you except for one VERY important point.

Trump supporters are the rightwing evangelicals who believe in controlling everyone else and gaining as much personal wealth as they can.

But there are evangelicals who daily help the homeless find housing, if only briefly. They work with landlords that are willing to keep rents low so that a homeless family can get a place that give them a toehold to move up in society. They are in the parks near sundown feeding people what likely is those peoples' only meal of that day. They collect and clean old clothing so that a homeless person can have clothes fit for the season. I don't agree with them on everything, their views on LGBTQ people are backward, though I have NEVER witnessed them refuse an LGBTQ person service.

So, please use some distinction when referring to evangelicals, some of them are not perfect, but they are extrodinary human beings. Use rightwing evangelicals to refer to the demons that support Trump.

4. Evangelicals are just as horrible as Kanye and Kid Rock are.

They just won't admit it publicly. Pull back the curtains and you get an entirely different picture of what they're like behind closed doors. Bill Maher was right - if you want a picture of what someone is really like, don't look at their Facebook page. Instead look at their search history.
