Most mornings before starting my day, I sit down with a coffee and turn on the news hoping to see if Trump is in jail yet. Only problem is, the news stations love to show way too many video clips of the moron spouting off hatred rhetoric towards Democrats, immigrants, or whatever. The instant Trump's ugly face appears on my screen, my trigger finger automatically goes into action on my remote, and I'm gone. It's back to the National Geographic or Smithsonian channel.
I think the only smart news station is NEWSY. NEWSY doesn't seem to show Trump's face nearly as much as the other stations because they seem to be smart enough to know that they're going to lose most of their viewers whenever Trump's ugly face appears on the screen.
So what do you do when the station you're watching shows a video clip of Trump?

I turn it off or switch channels immediately. It's too stressful to watch that jackass for a split second.

I can usually last for at least 10 or 20 seconds before switching channels or turning off the TV.

I continue watching throughout. I think it's better to know what he's saying about us, so I try to grin and bear it.

I actually enjoy watching him make a fool of himself, so I have no problem seeing him spout off.

(5,811 posts)I always tune in to MSNBC at 3pm. If they start with a clip of Trump I change the channel. I go back at 4pm and at whatever point they show or threaten to show a clip of Trump, I change the channel.
I go back at 5pm and if they open with a clip of Trump, I change the channel.
THE ONLY MSNBC news program that is almost entirely free of Trump's image is the Rachel Maddow show which I watch every night of the week. I watch Lawrence on DVR because he sometimes has images of Trump which I TiVo fast forward thru.

Here's a perfect application for voice recognition... A device or app for a viewing device which instantly finds a Trump free feed at the detection of his voice.

It's been cathartic.

(6,535 posts)or even any mention whatsoever, and just block that media entirely. I guess I'd miss out on a lot of "news" content, but I think my online experience would be much better.

haha, good one! I might have to try that sometime for a still shot and then share it with a Republican acquaintance or two.

the negative lies and complete bullshit in the Rick Scott TV ads.
