A Word of Advice for the Turtle Man
Hey, Mitch!
I know you think you look cool-as-a-cucumber when you warn Democrats about their plans “backfiring” if they start investigating the corruption your “pResident”, his administration, and your fellow Republicans are in up to your eyeballs.
But the truth is that your flop-sweat is visible from the asteroid belt, and your words literally exude a growing fear of imminent doom.
If you want to discuss the concept of political moves “backfiring”, you might start with the following facts:
Your pResident is under investigation, and every aspect of his life is under Mueller’s microscope. Some of his closest friends, advisors, and business associates have been convicted, and are cooperating with that ever-expanding investigation.
The tentacles of Mueller’s probe are reaching under all kinds of rocks – like the ones certain powers-that-be in the GOP slither under when people start talking about dirty money, connections to Russian operatives, and all kinds of things that could render some Republicans politically dead – and could even land some of them in prison.
What has “backfired” is your own party’s enabling of a lying, idiotic, racist pussy-grabber. The Republican party is hemorrhaging members, and has done more to get-the-vote-out for Democrats than any marketing scheme could have accomplished.
What has “backfired” is your party’s insistence on putting a credibly-accused sexual predator and blatant perjurer on the Supreme Court. You weren’t expecting the backlash, were you? You never anticipated the protests, the “angry mob” – any more than you foresaw the anti-Kavanagh outcries from the ACLU, the lawyers, the classmates, the spokespeople for Yale, the judges – including retired Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens.
What has “backfired” is your much-touted, middle-class tax break. It didn’t take long for people to realize that the vast majority of them didn’t get a single penny added to their paycheck, along with facing higher prices everywhere thanks to your “pResident’s” tariffs. And they’ll be really pissed when they file their returns next spring and find out they owe more than they did last year – thanks to you taking away their usual deductions.
The fact that you never saw any of this coming speaks volumes about how inept you’ve become at reading the temperature of the populace – and just how afraid you are of their growing dissatisfaction with people like you spewing bullshit that becomes more stench-producing by the day.
What’s particularly laughable is your contention that you think all of this will “help get the president re-elected”. Perhaps you haven’t seen the poll numbers over the past two years, Mitch, but the way things are going, the chances of your “pResident” being re-elected will be somewhere between zero and nil by 2020 – while the chances of him, and many of your cohorts, facing criminal charges is astronomical.
The truth always outs, Turtle Man. Mueller and his team are on a winning streak when it comes to ferreting out the lies, deceit, and criminal activities of those who have aided and abetted the traitor in the White House in order to line their own pockets, while destroying the democracy you all pretend to hold so dear.
Under the circumstances, I can’t blame you for being terrified. If I were you, I’d be shitting my pants, too.
