Supreme Court asked to review abortion law signed by Pence

INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana is asking the U.S. Supreme Court to hear arguments over a law that bars women from having abortions based on gender, race or disability.

Vice President Mike Pence signed the law in 2016 when he was Indiana's governor. But federal courts have blocked it, saying it violates a woman's right to end her pregnancy.

Attorney General Curtis Hill on Friday asked the Supreme Court to take the case. He acknowledged a right to abort but says it's "not a right to decide which child to bear."

Ken Falk of the American Civil Liberties Union of Indiana says Indiana's petition is an attempt to infringe on women's rights.

Then again, all passing this law will do is make women stop telling anyone ... her 'reasons for doing so', and frankly, I'm sorta surprised any woman ever actually DOES do so. Because 'taint nobody's business if she do ...

If I knew I or my husband was a carrier of any of a number of horrible and fatal diseases, I would have my fetus checked, and if it tested positive for Tay-Sachs or hemophilia or another severe genetic disease, I would want an abortion.

But these *holes tell is that we "don't have the right to decide which child to bear." First, it's a fetus, not a child. It's not the Gerber Baby.

What the ever loving fck is wrong with these people?

Abortion outlawed just in time for the midterms. And the orange maggot will be crowing about it.

Only way these state laws can attempt to be overridden is a Repuke Congress and Repuke President passing a national abortion ban.

But then we can just nullify their BS law anyway.

Let's say I'm Nancy Smith, pregnant woman and resident of Lafayette, IN. My fetus is diagnosed by my OB/GYN as having a lethal genetic problem. If I get in my car, drive to Indianapolis, present myself at one of Indy's two abortion clinics, and claim the reason I am seeking abortion care is because "I really feel it's the wrong time to bring a child into the world," is the clinic supposed to do a complete genetic screen and call every healthcare provider in the state before performing the abortion to see if there's something I'm not telling them?

is genetically normal (non-disabled) in order to qualify for an abortion.

She could jump on a Greyhound to Chicago and deal with it without all the bullshit.

Next thing I want to know: If you're in the midst of a pregnancy that'll either result in an infant that needs care you can't afford because of the congenital problems it's got, or that'll destroy your ability to get pregnant again after it fails, are there exceptions in the law for that? I find it a bit strange that with the baby fetish the GOP has, they would demand someone continue a pregnancy that'll require a hysterectomy to save the mother's life.
