House bill #1 is usually a procedural bill, so I grant you it isn't the correct number. But the first bill the new congress should pass is a voting rights bill.
Symbolic, to be sure. But what better symbolism for a new majority to take?
I think the gop's opening bill was repeal of aca. Hmm, taking away healthcare vs assuring democracy.

... for dems.
A big one, non partisan one ... how do they think they're going to win when they can't get the vote if its close!?
