The Warren DNA/Native American "controversy" was part of Trump's birtherism shtik.

He's moved on from Obama and Elizabeth Warren is the next project.

I love her to pieces but I also feel that he suckered her into responding. If I remember well, Obama presented both the short and long-form birth certificate and Trump initially wouldn't accept either or both as valid evidence. I didn't believe that the DNA test for her would put to rest his attack on her heritage.

2. Exactly, but I thought she was too smart to be "suckered" by him. Imho, she shot herself in the foot

The whole "issue" (non-issue) was too ridiculous to blow up bigger. She should have stuck to the truth that she grew up hearing a family story, plus that she never used it to advance any application for anything, and THAT IS ALL/nothing more.

9. Most of the video is just about her growing up in her family, her town, and professors

talking about what a great teacher she was. It's a 5 minute life story that touches on the N.A. issue.

But I was favorably surprised by Liz Warren's video. I had kind of written her off till now -- there are some potential candidates I thought were much stronger. But now I'm not so sure.

It’s unfortunate that this issue began in the first place and even more so that it has gone on as long as it has. MSM wouldn’t let it go and neither would Trump. Warren got caught up in yet another Trumpian gambit. She was strong and fought back, but he efforts only escalated the situation. Yes, she’s been honest about her heritage, and Trump’s a liar (no surprise), but that doesn’t change the dynamic of the situation. I think Warren thinks this DNA test and the video she released will put an end to it; however, I feel as though this issue will follow her indefinitely including a potential presidential campaign in 2020. It will continue to be problematic on several fronts.

5. It wouldn't have gone away by her ignoring it, any more than Obama's birth certificate

Seems to be the victim of bullying. I'm good with her answering, and now that she has she can forget it and turn to the real issues that affect the lives of people, and if Trump and the Republicans want to continue to revel in their bullying so be it.

I think you’re accurate in her providing a solid answer to a situation where she’s been bullied. The real “test” will be how she handles future attacks on this issue. Will she say, “I’ve already responded to these questions,” or will the “back and forth” of this issue continue and continue to distract from (as you stated) the real issues.

You don't reason with a troll. You do your best to trigger him or her.

12. Do you think that if she compares the Pocahontas bs to the birth certificate she can move on?

If it ever comes up again, she can just say “already asked and answered,” brush it off, and not be drawn into anything further.
