Has Chris Mattews recently started looking like an old man? He looks like hell!

15. There's something strange about his voice

Sometimes I have the TV on and I'm listening but not necessarily watching it. At times I've listened to Chris Matthews when he was talking off camera, something else was shown on the screen while he was speaking, and I didn't recognize his voice. He almost sounded like a woman, and I couldn't figure out who was talking. It was weird, but that's when I noticed the high pitch in his voice. Maybe it's from years of strain on his vocal chords, I don't know. Has anyone else noticed it?

He looks bad, and his on-air performance has been getting ragged---missed cues, failure to ride herd on panel discussions, coughing spells, etc. Painful to watch, even for someone who's been merely tolerating Matthews for years, such as myself.
