It was awful Nov. 2016 when DU was hacked. The HORRIBLE election results and we could not connect with each other. It was not good.

May all go well this election. We will have a lot to talk about.

I do miss the times when they'd post their own thoughts, experiences, and personal updates. It made DU feel much more like a "family"-like community.

I too have voted by absentee and went online to verify it was received. They did get it!

The voter suppression is HORRIBLE! It is so awful. Just let America be a democracy, damn it!

to the topic but there was an excellent show on the Smithsonian Channel last night America in Color, it was very informative and focused on President Hoover and his tenure as President and then the election of Franklin Delano Roosevelt what a accomplished President he was, he was so good to the people with his vision and social programs. I kind of teared up saying we need to be like that again, the American people hit bottom but we prevailed, that was our parents generation.

4. I remember that day well

I wasn't a member then, but I'd been lurking around DU since 2003 reading other people's posts and I still miss Prosense. That day I was sitting at my computer waiting for the threads to start and Trump rode by pointing a gun. I said WTF? It all went downhill from there. Trump won and I couldn't look at MSNBC or the news for weeks I was so depressed. When DU came back online I joined because I needed an outlet.

As it gets closer to Nov. 6th I started to think "What if DU is hacked again?" And like others on here, why don't we know what really happened that night?

I have a suspicion that I will not be getting any sleep that night. I've already voted, so maybe I should take a nap during the day to prepare for a long night.
