Check it out.. She just outclassed the Republican Congressman and nailed him at the end of the interview.
He was almost speechless at the end of the interview. The Congressman was defending Trump's lack of interest of Confronting the Saudis ..
Great Job Katy.

(3,259 posts)Until about half way through. Tur forced him to answer about Trump. There are no good talking points for that. He fell apart.
And he seemed to be just a little too excited with his talk about Israel being forced to deploy nukes. He made it out to be a guarantee under specific circumstances that he outlined. It wouldnt even be close to a guarantee under those circumstances.
Great job Tur.

(16,178 posts)but don't talk about the torture and dismemberment of a journalist.
That was a pile of shit.

(6,977 posts)And I don't watch MSNBC early in the day but just happened to be watching, but she did do a very good job taking Senator Corn Pone off of his "I LOVE Saudi Arabia" thuglican talking points while at the same time getting him to admit how much he loves Saudi Arabia just like his treasonous president. Of course fatso protects Saudi Arabia, because he makes money off of them, and he turns the other old, wrinkled, huge, gelatinous, nasty, pimpled butt cheek allowing them to get away with murdering/dismembering that poor journalist.

(12,448 posts)Saudi Arabia did terrible things and we ought to tell them how bad they are, loudly and firmly. That'll show them!
Oh, and Trump doesn't care about their money.
Yes, Katy was good.

(3,131 posts)He kept attacking his straw man . "Some people are sayin cut all ties with the Saudis and some of them just want the Middle East to blow up so they can blame Trump. She never asked who the hell is saying that, just let him repeat it 17 times
She had one good question but let him deflect. Why did the president lie about his financial connections. He deflected it to there was no evidence it influenced him. But she should have come back to why did he lie then.
Not saying it is easy to think on your feet and push back, but in my opinion he controlled the story for 8 minutes.

Everytime a right wing Repub come on a middle of the road news program...We're talking CNN and MSNBC..The guest controls 75% of the time.. even with the questioning.. Katy was slow and deliberate but hung him out to dry in the end.

(3,131 posts)Thinking more. I actually stopped watching cable news a couple of months ago. The format just started to bother me. I blamed it on wanting to more reporting and less talking heads telling me what to think about what happened. I really don't miss it.
We both see what a weasely liar John Kennedy is. Our minds aren't getting changed. Maybe having him on serves some journalistic purpose. I think he adds nothing useful to the conversation.
Having him on is valuable for ratings. Ok nothing wrong with paying the bills. What did the casual listener hear? Kennedy got challenged and said that the other side, at least some of them, wanted to cut all ties with the Saudis. That is, the other side isn't any better.
The format of cable news is a problem. I don't have any great ideas for how to change it for the better. Things I would like would probably tank ratings.

(1,389 posts)Ms Tur is as good as any MSM talking head at calling BS, but she failed on this one. Who are the they that he kept talking about? Ask what specific actions that he advocates.

(28,125 posts)You are right. I wasn't impressed with her interview of him.
He controlled the conversation.
