What happens if we manage to shut down a gazillion dollar money laundering scheme?

With Mueller's investigation and heavy media attention, one by one, we're closing down backdoor laundering businesses. What happens when we actually make a dent?

I try not to be naive about this. Some of them probably operated with the knowledge and assistance of our intelligence agency. The question is, what happens when we succeed in shutting most of them down? Or do they have the will to do it? And if we succeed, will there be retaliation?

They will just find another way around the laws to do it.
It really is a shame, you know if they put their efforts into making the world and peoples lives better we would all be better off.
