Gallup and Rasmussen tracking polls?

Gallup has Romney +2

Rasmussen has Romney +3

Now why are the tracking polls so different from the national polls that have been coming out over the past week or so? Can anyone think of a good explanation?

1) The tax release thing has faded from people's attention over the past week or so. It will be back.

2) Some of these samples are probably taken after the Olympic gaffes had left the news cycle.

3) Gas is trending up, which always hurts whoever is President

4) Ras and Gallup always trend a point or two to the right (politically). It has a lot to do with sampling methodology.
