Georgia 'lost' 4,600 ballot requests submitted by Democrats: report

BOB BRIGHAM 25 OCT 2018 AT 18:59 ET

Yet another voter suppression scandal in Georgia was reported by The New York Times on Thursday.

The Democratic Party of Georgia reportedly submitted over 4,700 vote-by-mail applications in DeKalb County, but the elections board could only confirm receiving 48 requests.

“We will not allow Brian Kemp’s voter suppression or mistakes by election officials to take away your right to vote,” pledged Democratic Party spokesperson Seth Bringman.

investigate this crime? Have no lawsuits been filed or motions for a judge to stop this until they explain this ?

Some progress has been made on the Gwinnett County situation.

US District Judge Leigh Martin May issued a proposed ruling that would prohibit election officials from rejecting absentee ballots due to alleged signature mismatches, but said the parties in the case would have until noon Thursday to comment on the instructions for handling those situations.

And it's weird because Dekalb is run by Democrats. So if the requests went to the county, I would not think they would have a motive to lose them. Alas, they have a history of corruption, but I figure any corruption there would favor the status quo, not that I agree with corruption. I live in GA but have always voted in person, so I.don't know if those requests go to the state or county.

It sounds like county officials are taking the proper steps to correct whatever might have happened. They are even calling voters who may have submitted applications for absentee voting.
