Here's what you get for making a deal with McConell

"The Senate Judiciary Committee is making a real project out of having sham hearings to confirm unqualified federal judges nominated by the unindicted co-conspirator in the Oval Office. It wasn't enough to force sexual assaulter Brett Kavanaugh onto the Supreme Court, so they're carrying on with shoving more controversial nominees through while the Senate is in recess and only a few Republicans are on hand to witness the travesty."

"No Democrats were able to attend because the hearings were sprung on them. Democrats thought that the deal they made with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell at the beginning of the month to allow floor votes for 15 judges meant that the Senate was actually recessing, and that these pending hearings would be cancelled. That’s what Democratic leader Chuck Schumer gets for thinking he's ever negotiating with McConnell and Grassley in good faith."

"Carl Tobias, a University of Richmond law professor and expert on judicial nominations, tells the Huffington Post these hearings are “jokes” allowing three of Trump's circuit court nominees and seven of his district court nominees to advance with no scrutiny. "No Democratic senators and two GOP senators and no real questions asked?"

1. Why would Schumer allow this to slip by him?

He seems too sharp for that. I wasn't happy about the Dems agreeing to the judges' appointments in exchange for time to go back home to campaign for the midterms but I figured Chuck must know what he is doing.

"Wait, what are you saying?" to Grassley after Flake said he wanted to wait a week to let an investigation of Kavanaugh continue. Sen. White house (I think) was saying something and she made him stop talking, "Sshhh, let him finish, say that again", so Grassley would clarify the new deal he suddenly made with Flake and the rest of them on the committee. You need to get everything in writing and publicly notarized when you deal with the lying GOP.

11. It ended with Garland in my opinion. But I agree with Schumer. The Senate has enough close

races that we could win...if we win the Senate, we shut judges down for Trump. There is no chance of stopping judges so I fail to see the point of having a big brouhaha that makes it harder for the 10 red state Senators...not to mention having to stay in DC instead of campaigning.

delay, use the rules of the senate to force them to drag it out as long as possible.

10. Not during an election...winning the senate is still a possibility despite the odds against us.

Schumer was right...we can't stop it so inevitably they get approved. What is the point? I would rather take a run at the Senate where there is at least a chance of winning.

Screw Americans long and hard. They are doing everything they can to impose their version of a fascist government on us.
I contribute to the Democratic Party on a monthly basis thinking that it might help. The so-Called leaders of the party trust the most evil of the conservanazis and take their words in a political deals only for them to continue to screw US.

I am sure Schumer figured they would do this...but we need to take at least the House and hold the ten red state Dems running in Trump states who would have been greatly harmed by another judicial battle...reality bites. They have 51 votes.
