Everything about this rise to power has been more than it seemed. The playbook has been a dictator’s “how to” we have seen played out in history for thousands of years.

Discredit those that oppose you

Arrest those that offer resistance

Kill those that cannot be controlled

By removing potential leaders and recognized authority figures that may sustain or foster public resistance you create more agreeable and fearful citizens.

Hopefully this is an act of a single crazed person but nothing has been that simple yet.
