(37,160 posts)1. Kavanaugh was put on the court to be a long-term right-wing operative...
Defending Trump in order to thwart any rollback of RW gains under him is part of the job, but only part of it.

(10,828 posts)2. He simply admitted . . .
what we already knew. Interesting that the audience gasped. Maybe it was for the moment of truth spilling from Eye of the Newt's shriveled lips.
Newt and his gang of undemocratic thugs are revealing themselves on a daily basis.
How sweet!
We need to vote like we never voted before.

(6,137 posts)4. I guess Roberts will be the deciding vote
it continues to puzzle me, his vote on ACA. It was crystal clear for any federalist society member w/o even thinking yet he majorly deviated on that.

D.U. Link to Kavanaugh story and Eureka Club
The article at the link goes into detail how Kavanaugh was a member of the Eureka Club. He had dinners and met with Viet Dinh, who now serves as a senior legal adviser to Rupert Murdoch and is a godfather to Lachlan Murdochs child, John Yoo, who wrote the so-called torture memos; and Robert Coughlin, the former deputy chief of staff at the Department of Justice who pleaded guilty to a conflict of interest crime related to the Jack Abramoff lobbying scandal. Coughlin was disbarred but reinstated as a lawyer in 2016.
These people who are in charge are so damn intertwined with each other. It's hard to see where Trump starts and Rupert Murdoch joins in. And then where a Supreme Court Justice for life ends.

But I may be overestimating their integrity.
