UNLESS he or she printed their whole collection of addresses on one sheet of labels. THEN, one of the labels may show the printer code.

Each card and label is considered a different document.

In the Snopes article linked in the OP, the EFF is quoted:

The [Xerox] DocuColor series prints a rectangular grid of 15 by 8 minuscule yellow dots on every color page. The same grid is printed repeatedly over the entire page, but the repetitions of the grid are offset slightly from one another so that each grid is separated from the others. The grid is printed parallel to the edges of the page, and the offset of the grid from the edges of the page seems to vary. These dots encode up to 14 7-bit bytes of tracking information, plus row and column parity for error correction. Typically, about four of these bytes were unused (depending on printer model), giving 10 bytes of useful data.

So even if a page of address labels was counted as single document, the code embedded would show at least in part on each label.

If you think about it, so much of the material can be identified in some way. It occurs to me that they have a thumbprint of the bombmaker in the available materials.

envelope
labels (printer)
tape
stickers or color printouts saying Get er done (printer again)
wire
timing device (likely serial numbers there)
power
wire
pipe
black powder
shrapnel

Someone will have all these things waiting to be found.

They can't say anything yet so they don't spook them, but there's a ton of possible evidence, as you have pointed out. With all that, they have to have some hints pointing to someone.

It's looking like the source is in Florida somewhere.

IMO, the investigative agencies KNOW way more than the MSM, and Snopes, can ever articulate. They've had nearly a week dealing with the evidence and an enormous army of investigators and a voluminous data base of information. By now, they HAVE suspects and, under normal circumstances, would be raiding homes and buildings right now and finding the bomb factories.

So, why hasn't this happened?

Here's my conspiratorial answer: because they KNOW that the bombers are affiliated with Trump. They're either in Trumpy-approved neo-Nazi groups, like Proud Boys, or they're being managed by people politically or familially connected with Trumpy himself. The slow-walking is due to the politically sensitive nature of their findings. For instance, they may have intercepts that link the bombers with Donny Jr., who is the most likely Trumpy family member to be involved with this mess. Another likely principle is Eric Prince, brother of Fascist princess Betsy DeVos.

The overall behavior of the GOP over the mailing of pipe bombs is very telling. No one is expressing outrage. Trumpy is mum, which, historically, means that Trumpy is giving, at a minimum, a wink and a nod to the pipe bomb terrorists. He's done this with neo-Nazis, the KKK contingent, white supremacists, and Russian oligarchs associated with Putin. We KNOW, based upon his history and biographical information, that he enjoys sticking it to his "enemies". So he sees the terrorism as helpful to his brand. He WANTS to bully and intimidate his opposition, and has no limits to the means of destroying them. Trumpy, if not behind the original plan for terrorism, is clearly backing the terrorists NOW. But the better guess is that Trumpy knew in advance of the terrorists' plans and did NOT intervene. The pipe bomb mailings are ENTIRELY CONSISTENT with Trumpy's M.O. He invites violence and relishes the moments when his "enemies" are intimidated or humiliated. Having his "enemies" killed is just a means to an end for him.

When writers, pundits, and news anchor people have warned that Trumpy is a dangerous person who poses a real threat to the nation, THIS IS WHY. He has destroyed the GOP, and the GOP remnants have been cowed into abandoning their oaths of office. They are Trumpy's frightened lackies.

Oh. The title of the post comes from a Bob Dylan song.

Plus they suck at printing photos. Most people use color ink jet printers for printing.
