You seriously can't make this shit up:
Our FBI: State of the Art Forensics or Crackpot Gumshoes?

Does anyone, besides me, find it rather intriguing that in just a manner of hours, our FBI located and arrested a man, suspected of mailing a bomb device to various politicians all across this vast country, yet they fall short in unraveling those mysteries that should be easier?
For example, just about everyone on this forum knows that Obama's Birth Certificate is not authentic, or at least has some suspicious inconsistencies that seem illogical to an intelligent and unbiased person. At least to raise a hint of doubt.
You'd think the FBI with their sophisticated means of determining when and where the ink on a piece of paper came from, would know instantly if Obama's Birth Certificate was authentic. Yet, nothing from them to lay this matter to rest.
While we're on the subject, you'd think, for the benefit of all those presidential biographers out there, that the FBI would enlighten us Americans on some of the rumors floating around about our 44th president. For example, it would be nice to know that our FBI validated that our president was born in Hawaii, had a single valid social security number, actively attended classes at Columbia University and Harvard Law Schools and traveled to places like Pakistan, in his twenties, as a tourist, not as an agent for the CIA or other clandestine reason.
I mean, why keep it a secret, especially now? Americans want to know everything about our presidents--the good and the bad. If, for no other reason than to give those "future" Obama biographers at least some updated and validated material so the books are not still fictional starting with the first chapter.
You'd think also, that our FBI would take a few weeks max, to determine if our 45th president colluded with the Russians, laundered money with them or had any other illegal activity with a foreign government, but here we are two years later, and not a peep out of them, so we can also lay this whole matter to rest.
So, can someone tell me? Are we seeing the results of the best forensic methods utilized by the best people at what they do, in the world, right here in our FBI, putting together the clues quickly and efficiently to make an arrest, or was this not as hard as it looks?
I'm a sexagenarian, and like just about everyone else my age, I think I've seen it all. Those of us, like me, still vividly recall where we were the time we first heard Kennedy was killed.
That single event, like it probably did to the people in Lincoln's time, changed my life and the trajectory of our country and perhaps also the world, and much has happened since then that makes us wonder why God has kept us still the greatest nation on earth. So much so, that I feel like we're experiencing a renaissance of sorts, as if we're embarking on a modern day Age of Pericles, and guess who is Pericles?
In summary, let me just say, that I consider myself a patriot, and by saying that, I grew up in awe and respect of our FBI, but I must admit that even I have my doubts about the people still working in and running this once unquestioned institution. I'm embarrassed, that I find myself asking if the bomber was set up to do this, under the watchful eye of our FBI?
In short, I'm not sure if I trust our FBI.

(53,061 posts)Cognitive Dissonance.
The latter requires someone to have two contradictory ideas and suspend rational analysts to take one side over the over despite a mountain of facts.
"Willing suspension of disbelief" requires a meta suspension of rationality to accept an entire alternative universe of reality where every fact is reinterpreted to fit.

(6,974 posts)But that right-winged, thuglican domestic terrorist who hopped into his pro-tRump Scooby Doo van and who painstakingly made and sent all of those bombs out to Dems ONLY all across the country told me all I needed to know about "the enemy." And, we don't need to go into tReasonous tRump's exploits. That fat pig is racist, sexist, a sexual assaulter, a promoter of violence, a deep stater whose partially if not en total IS responsible for that Domestic terrorist MEGABomber creep, his hatred, his racism and his 13 non hoax BOMBS that he sent to Dems ONLY (2 past presidents).
Look at that piece of crap.
Piece of crap tRump will be in North Carolina tonight stoking more hatred, yelling fake news, saying spewing deep state crap and probably all he says will go into the ear of another tRump-loving Cesar Sayoc wannabe.

(31,261 posts)We have people that have to "be excited" by a candidate or who refuse to vote for anyone that don't meet 100% of their idea of perfection. We should care about what they think, if only to get some on our side to pull their heads out of their asses.

Freepers get their way when they should not because they are disciplined in pushing their evil goals.

By putting "Freeperville" in the title, you made it absolutely clear that material from FR would be in the post. Anyone who didn't want to read right-wing drivel could simply skip it. Please ignore all the vitriol being directed at you in this thread.
