Note to self: Take photos the next time you see a crazy MAGAt-adorned vehicle roaming free.

The FBI might need them some day.

Seriously though, there is a MAGAt who drives around my city with a big truck covered in home made, pro-Shitler nonsense. Guy driving it looks like an extra from the movie "Deliverance." Kinda' scary.

not quite as many stickers as this bomber asshole, but enough... and often they have a single huge American flag flying from the bed of the pickup... and almost always the flag has been whipped to the point of being shredded ( my boy scout training tells me that the flag should not be treated this way or left in tatters )

Maybe I will start taking pictures of them.

But, no, seriously... take photos. They might be needed some day. Seriously. This just got real, and it's time to prepare for more insane asshats to follow this guy's lead.

they won't care. But if a guy does something and you see his vehicle on the news and you remember you have pics of that vehicle you can sure try to sell them. You can probably do both - FBI might want them to confirm location at a given time and tabloids want them because that's what they do.

how is your picture you took of some crazy van months or years ago going to help catch a guy now? It's background at best. Nobody is saying if you happen to get a pic of guy planting a bomb you shouldn't do everything in your power to alert authorities.

I think we're taking about 2 completely different things.

at a time, at least to yourself so a record will exist. Who knows, there are people who'll want to copycat these nuts, heaven forbid.

I had survivalists living around me and my parents, as well as other religious denominations that settled down there near Windyville MO. All of these people seemed okay though...and seem neighborly, typical Ozarks type of people, eccentric but unique. It's those few nuts few and far between that are the ones to watch, redneck seems to describe them the best.

Back in the Bush years, we had a Libertarian rally in our Podunk park. I strolled up to have a look-see, and discovered a vehicle that had a totally bizarre collection of bumper stickers plastered all over the back. I took a picture of it and was immediately confronted by an irate individual that was pissed I took the picture. I was able to deescalate the situation, but I was really shaken by the encounter; these people are NOT stable.

plastered with decals and stickers advertising my particular political obsession. I would drive something like a gray Prius and it would not have any bumper stickers or a vanity plate. I would also stay off social media except maybe to post the occasional cat video, and I would especially not "like" Facebook pages called "Kill XXXX" if I were planning to do something bad to XXXX.

It seems like most of these wackadoos leave slime trails a mile wide on social media - law enforcement's best friend these days.

The really, really dangerous ones don't make a scene. But they have the skills to kill you and when they finally come after you, you are lucky to survive. A real killer would not have chosen high value targets immediately, he or she would have killed or maimed someone way down the food chain and learned from the results. This magabomber was clueless, sending out bombs with the same return address and similar packaging, a studied person would have changed that up like the unabomber did.

He is a guy in his 60's with an oxygen thing in his nose. The truck is scary, lots of the same things on that van. Next time I see him I'm taking pictures, and getting the license number.

My feeling has always been "free country, he most likely hates my stickers too". Not any more.

<snip>

"From the moment it was shown on television, people from all over South Florida instantly recognized the white van owned by mail bombing suspect Cesar Sayoc.

Local 10 aired live video Friday morning of Sayoc's van as it was seized by authorities from an auto parts store parking lot in Plantation.

Immediately, viewers and social media followers inundated the station with pictures from when they had seen the van on South Florida streets.

With decals covering its windows from top to bottom, the van was very hard to keep under the radar.

Many of those who sent in pictures were amazed at the incendiary messages displayed. Those images included gun scopes aimed at former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and filmmaker Michael Moore, as well as President Trump standing on top of a tank."

Van plastered with Trump stickers and anti-Hillary stuff. The guy looked like he was living out of his van and was on Disability and Medicaid (not a shame, but he likely put down other people in the same situation). Last two times I saw him, once at a drug store and once at the grocery store, he could hardly walk, even with a walker. The last time, he had pissed himself. I have not seen him in a while, my guess, he likely has croaked.
