Sorry, but health care is not "the #1 issue" of this election.

I keep hearing that. "health care is the #1 issue in this election."

Rachel just said it.

I'm sorry, that is not true.

The #1 issue that is driving people to the polls, and breaking records of early voting in states across the country, is not health care.

it is:

GIVING THE DEMS CONTROL OF THE HOUSE to put the brakes on Trump and to ensure the investigation continues.

That is the #1 issue this election. Period.

1. Number one issue is race IMO. Republicans are motivated to support racist candidates who

share their grievances. Democrats are motivated to reject that.

..Yes, there are a lot of people for whom that is a factor.

But I know a sizable number of people who hate Trump, think he's horrible, etc......but who are still going to vote for some Republican candidates at all levels of government. Too many people still not making the connection that Trump is the Republican party and the Republican party is Trump.

A lot of people are still not making that connection, and most of them are the revered, mythical "independents" and "moderate Republicans" who the media and our overpaid consultants still pretend we can get. They are the people that Trump supposedly "drove out of the Republican party.

The question is, does "our" fire and motivation burn stronger and more powerful than these idiot's disconnect from reality?

Jeff Denham is getting beaten up by Josh Harder for his contradicting.... pre-existing conditions position.

For shits and giggles, I went to 538 to see how the race is shaping up; Nate Silver thinks CA-10 is going to flip, baby!

The 50-odd House and Senate candidates I've talked to personally (from marginal, rather than Safe-D Districts) all say that the top issue on voters' minds is health care.

We here on DU are in a bit of an information and opinion bubble. Which is a good thing imo but not reflective of the majority of Americans level of political engagement.

The majority of voters are not paying attention like so many here on DU are and I think that's what Rachel etc are speaking to.

of him.

and they/we all know that it relates to all the other issues, including health care. if he is stifled, it helps ALL the issues.

The folks that I know who are voting for the first time, are voting for one reason- Impeach Trump.
I was texting with a friend who hasn't voted as yet and he told me that he is definitely voting this weekend to get Trump removed from office. I have yet to hear someone tell me that healthcare is the major issue they're voting for. I've heard it mentioned in a list but the removal of Trump is always #1.
