Statue of priorities

India completed and dedicated the Statue of Unity, currently the tallest statue on Earth at the cost of $400 million dollars.

I can think of no more gross misuse of resources in a country with millions of desperately poor people and horrible living conditions as well as rampant and chronic issues with sexual predators, this seems to me to be tone deaf and insulting.

...and they are building an even bigger one...

Despite that goal, local tribal leaders objected to the statue and said they would boycott its dedication, citing the construction project’s cost and its use of natural resources.

Well, at least they didn't build a 50(?) billion dollar wall. But I see your point. dameatball Oct 2018 #1
