At least one polling place has closed in the US and that's on Guam. Governor's race and other election results seem to be going Dem at this stage with about a third of the vote counted. Governor must win 50% or face a run off. There is a write in candidate who lost in the Dem primary. Still early and vote is largely symbolic as far as national elections go; representatives to Congress from Guam have no voting authority.
Leon Guerrero maintains large lead, with 20 precincts counted
Democrat Lou Leon Guerrero and running mate Joshua Tenorio retained their commanding lead in the race for governor, according to the latest batch of unofficial results, released about 12:55 a.m.
With 20 of 67 precincts counted, Leon Guerrero has 50.7 percent of the vote, with Republican Lt. Gov. Ray Tenorio receiving 25.89 percent of the vote.
There also are a significant number of write-in votes for governor, representing 23.41 percent of the vote. Tenorio was 245 votes ahead of the write-ins.
