No matter what individual disappointments there were tonight, can we all just do one thing?

And look at the BIG picture......and start CELEBRATING THAT WE ARE TAKING OVER THE HOUSE!!!

This is major! We did it! Time to be HAPPY.

I realize that within this victory there are some big disappointments in several of the states, but the pendulum has FINALLY swung, and Trump is shitting bricks tonight.

CELEBRATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

in the Governor's mansion in states like Florida and Georgia with the 2020 census around the corner with redistricting and gerrymandering on the line and the 2020 election are pretty significant losses. It's a big deal that white America voted for two men who ran openly racist campaigns against two black politicians. Both Abrams and Gillum were attacked in virulently racist robocalls sounding like something from the Jim Crow era.

Yes, the victories were important and some minorities won on the House level. But statewide, there's still a HUGE race issue that needs to be addressed seriously. I feel like people are going to gloss over this. Ben Jealous, Andrew Gillum, and it's looking like Stacey Abrams will all lose.

And we didn't pick up one house seat in Ohio with stellar candidates. I am sick.

And even on those tough losses, these were HARD FOUGHT races where Dems took the fight to the enemy and forced them to defend, to the point where Trump himself had to come in and intervene to try and shore things up at the last minute.

Everywhere that Republicans were forced to divert energy and resources to defend seats they once thought were "safe" is that much less they had left to defend in other places -- and those other places are where they ended up getting crushed tonight.

It's all part of the same big picture.

This was a really, really solid night for progressives, and I am really, really proud of all the hard work and dedication that went into making tonight go down the way it did.

And, in case anyone missed it, **1.4 million** people in Florida also got their voting rights restored tonight! I literally don't have words for how important a victory this is. It's beyond huge.

So much more to come, just keep your eyes on the ball.

Tonight's election was a significant victory for progressives -- and there will be many, many more to come.
