1. NC, which is extremely gerrymandered, broke the R supermajority

in both the General Assembly and Senate. So, our Dem Governor can veto their toxic laws now. Democrats have a +9 in vote totals, I believe so we almost took back our legislative branches. It's hard.

Revenues collected for transportation will now be placed in a so-called "lock-box" and can no longer be funneled elsewhere, also all public land transactions will now require a public hearing to be held before the transaction can take place.

and provides a summary.

They're apparently less than typical for midterms, but of course the intensely corrupt level of gerrymandering and various geographic disadvantages that cause our votes to be wasted and Republicans' maximized have something to do with it.

Note that Republicans have picked up several U.S. Senate seats in spite of getting far fewer votes than we did in losing them, so no doubt that same sort of thing is cutting our wins at the state level.

State legislatures Democrats have flipped so far in the 2018 elections
Things went well, but not exceptionally well, for Democrats.

The NY Senate after winning a dem majority since 2010 but a group of dems caucused with the repugs that were swept away (all except 1 Simcha Felder who is going to be very lonely), winning some additional key races and now a dem majority of 39 true dems vs 23 repugs plus Benedict Felder
