Opposition to Nancy Pelosi as Speaker is what Republicans do.

Our newly-elected House majority will make the decision. We shouldn't be echoing what Republicans say here on DU.

Let the House Democrats choose their own Speaker, please. That's their job, not ours. Let's not act like the Republicans, shall we?

Thanks.

There is more than enough misogyny to go around. Nancy Pelosi is a strong and intelligent woman. Leave her alone and let her keep working.

She has proven herself to be a very capable leader many, many times. We're going to need that time-tested leadership.

knows that Pelosi can pull things off through her leadership that nobody thinks are possible.

Republicans hate her. That's good enough for me!

With a relatively small margin, the issue is how many of the newly-electeds want new Leadership.

Are you, by comparison, saying that ONLY Pelosi has the skills to lead the Democrats?

He will be a Freshman House member. Learning the intricacies of that body is the first task.

And no, I'm not saying that Pelosi is the only possible choice. I am saying that she has a proven record of successful leadership, and that her name will be brought forward.

You know who doesn't like Nancy Pelosi? Republicans. That's who. I'm skeptical of Democrats who say the same things as Republicans. Yes, indeed, I am.
