Do YOU realize how monumental the Dems victory last night was..and how damaging 2010 still is?

The Dems taking the House last night is like Canton-McKinley High School beating the University of Alabama in football. Let me explain why.

The most costly election of my lifetime was the 2010 Mid-Terms. Dems lost BIG and 2010 also happened to be a Census Year.

In my home state of Ohio, Retrumplicans were able to so gerrymander the congressional districts, so that in 2012, President Obama won Ohio 51-47%, but the Retrumplicans rolled the Dems 12-4 in the 16 Congressional Seats.

Retrumplicans won 47% of the vote, but earned 75% of the states representation

This scenario played out in state, after state, after state.

The 2010 Redistricting also saw some of the most sophisticated software ever developed to strategically gerrymander in Retrumplican majorities like it had never been done before. It was downright SURGICAL.

I think I saw a stat that indicated that Democrats would have to win by at least 8-10% to even come close to breaking even.

In my current state, Virginia, Ralph Northam beat the ever living crap out of Ed Gillespie by 12%, but Retrumplicans maintained control of the State Legislature by 1 vote...and that race ended in a tie, and names were pulled out of a bowl to decide it...of course, the Retrumplicans name was the one that was picked

Those are the facts that Democrats were facing, and it was why I was "hopeful", but not "optimistic".

Considering all that they had to overcome, our Democratic Party KICKED ASS last night, and may have just saved our Democracy.

To all Dems, Progressives, Liberals and anyone even toying with the idea of "skipping" another election, or voting 3rd Party, I'd like to point out....

2020 IS A GOD DAMNED CENSUS YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I still would like for at least a few thousands hayseeds in some Dumbfuckistan, 'Murika shithole to have to drive 6 hours to their only polling place, only to find that the machines had been locked up and no one has the key.

Maybe in a couple of the states we took back we could work to arrange that.

...they had curbside voting. Voting guy told her that Peolsi was a satanist, and that everything was going to shit.

He was shaken up from what I understand, because in 2016 the polling station she went to had less than 400 voters. In 2018 they had already gotten like a thousand.

Mom gives him her ballot. Full D line vote (random votes on judicial stuff she didn't research it). He doesn't put it in an anonymous slip or anything. Goes in to get her sticker.

Come back out pissed as all hell, dejected. He'd looked at my moms ballot and saw she voted all D. He'd assumed, incorrectly, that the white old lady who needed curbside voting (because she can't walk very well due to COPD) voted D.

The Republicans still won in those districts but I know he didn't have a good night.

more than a few states. Thus this is a BFD. In my opinion, we save our Republic and maybe the world...not exaggerating.
