Exasperated Steve Bannon: 'Thank you, Fox News'

Fox News threw a lot of election-watchers for a loop Tuesday with its early-evening projection that Democrats would win the House — but perhaps none more vocally than Steve Bannon.

“Thank you, Fox News,” the former Donald Trump strategist said during an election night webcast, where the news left him and several other rightwing panelists visibly rattled. “Thank you, Lachlan Murdoch. We’ve only got three more hours of voting, brother. I know they may not do that in Australia, but here in the United States we still vote.”

The moment punctuated a night when Bannon and the others in the disorganized ensemble, including Mike Cernovich, Raheem Kassam and Jack Posobiec, alternated between cautiously qualifying their expectations and confidently mocking a so-called blue wave that showed some early signs of washing out.

A collaboration between alt-right publication The Gateway Pundit and Bannon’s Citizens of the American Republic, the broadcast had about 3,500 YouTube viewers at any given time.

“If the Trump voter shows up today, I think we’re going to do fine. I think we’re going to hold the House and I think we’re going to hold the Senate,” Bannon said early on.
