Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsDid Rs add to their Senate majority? Looks like 51 right now, same as what it was Monday.
How are they figuring it will be over 51? And by how many? 52? 53?

(3,344 posts)That could change depending on close races and recounts.

(2,897 posts)Tester isn't out of the woods being down by 2000, but there are more outstanding ballots in Blue MT than Red so it seems like he will make it up.
AZ has a thin margin and outstanding ballots.
FL is headed for an automatic recap.
MS is headed for an Espy runoff.

(29,149 posts)Right now they're at +2. They're ahead but barely in MT and FL, which would put them to +4 if they also hold on in AZ. So it looks like best case they pick up 1 seat and worst case they pick up 4.
On exit: forgot about the Mississippi runoff... theoretically we could win that and all the other outstanding races and wins up with the same seat count were had before, which would be pretty amazing.

(53,784 posts)seats up for grabs this cycle than the repugs did. Come 2020 they will have more vulnerable seats in the Senate and we can hopefully recoup seats then.
For now they still have the majority, no change in that.
WE HAVE THE HOUSE THOUGH.
